Standard Sunday rest day today, but I'll be taking tomorrow off as well to hopefully let the ankle heal and work itself out. Maybe Tuesday I'll give it a little test. I know its taper week and that nothing is really to be gained or lost this week, but still the fact that I've worked for 16 weeks only to have this odd sort of thing happen is very un-nerving.

No run today. Went to Nancy's work and she hooked my ankle up to the electro-stim machine. Not taking any chances, feels ok, but I haven't tried to run on it since Saturday. I guess my mentality at this point is I might as well just rest it until Wed. or Thurs. and treat it as injured until then. Even if its ok, that will still give me 3 days of full rest with 3-4 days of running before St Louis Marathon on Sunday.

Off again today. Will maybe test out the ankle tomorrow.

Easy 4 mile test run today. No ankle problems. Knees felt a touch stiff from 4 days off. Heart rate around 120 at the completion of the run.

45 minute run today around what I hope to be race pace for my first 3-4 miles on Sunday. Haven't decided if I'm going to run at all Friday or Saturday yet. If I do it will be only a couple miles just to keep the mental sanity.

Went down to the expo to pick up my race packet and look around today. Everything seems to be a go. I'm getting well hydrated and should be rested up and chomping at the bit come gun time.

Well. Got a good 7.5 hours sleep last night so I should be good in that department. My nerves on the other hand are another story. My stomach has been doing backflips off and on for over 24 hours. 12 hours to go to gun time. I'm well hydrated and well carbed. I'm nervous as can be and don't know how well I'll sleep tonight. There should be about 13,000 + runners at the go, but only about 3000 of them will continue after the turnaround for the 1/2ers at mile 9. Weather looks to be perfect with about 45 degrees at race time and a finishing temp around 55.
