5:45pm and 65 degrees, humid and windy. We're on the verge of severe thunderstorms before the bottom drops out and the temp drops some 30-40 degrees. Tonights run was quite hilly and it seemed like fighting the wind was killing me. I think I took it as a personal challenge, because I really didn't want to run quite as fast as I did tonight. Once I turned the corner though with 3.5 or so to go and I had the wind at my back it was coast city. 8.65 in 1:02:42 (7:15s), including at least my last 2 miles sub 7, perhaps my last 3. Followed this up with 1.45 cool down in 11:30 (7:56s). Tomorrow I want to really work on sticking to the 7:20-7:30 range. |
